Terms of Service

The terms that apply when you book notary services with Taylor Notaries.

Effective date

11 September 2026

Nature of the service

We provide notarial acts only, in person at 7201 Ranch Road 2222, Austin, TX 78730 or online via Zoom. Our notaries are commissioned Texas notaries public. They are not attorneys, cannot give legal advice (Tex. Gov't Code 406.017), and cannot prepare legal documents.

Your responsibilities

Please bring valid identification and your documents unsigned. All required signers must be present at the appointment.

When we may refuse

A notary may refuse to notarize if identity or willingness to sign cannot be verified, or if the request is unlawful.

Fees

Notarial fees follow the maximums set by Texas Government Code 406.024: acknowledgment $10 for the first signature plus $1 for each additional signature on the same certificate; oath, affirmation or jurat $10; other certificate under seal $10. Notarial fees are not subject to sales tax, and no card fee is added.

You can pay online when you book, or in cash on arrival for in-person office appointments. Travel fees for mobile visits are non-notarial fees, agreed by phone when the visit is booked and itemized separately on your receipt.

Governing law

Texas law governs these terms.

Limitation of liability

Our notaries verify the identity of signers and witness signatures. We do not verify the accuracy, legality, validity or content of any document, and we are not responsible for how a document is drafted, used, filed or accepted by any third party.

To the fullest extent permitted by Texas law, Taylor Notaries, Richard Taylor and Liza Taylor will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including lost profits, missed deadlines or rejected filings, arising from our services or from any delay, cancellation or refusal to notarize.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim relating to an appointment is limited to the fees you paid for that appointment. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
