Cancellation, Refund & Reschedule Policy

What happens if you need to cancel, change or miss an appointment.

Effective date

11 September 2026

Cancelling

You can cancel an office or Zoom appointment at any time. There is no cancellation fee for office or Zoom appointments.

To cancel, email richard@taylornotaries.com with your name and the date and time of the appointment. Please do this as early as you can so the time can be released for another customer.

Rescheduling

Office and Zoom appointments can be rescheduled free of charge, subject to a suitable slot being available.

When you reschedule, we will offer you the next suitable opening. We cannot guarantee the same notary or the same time of day, and the new appointment is confirmed once we have emailed you the new details.

Refunds

A notarial fee is only kept for notarial acts actually performed. If you paid online and no notarization takes place — because you cancelled, did not attend, arrived too late to be fitted in, or the notary declined — the notarial fee is refunded in full.

If only some of the documents booked are notarized, the notarial fee for the acts not performed is refunded.

Any refund due is returned to the card used to pay, through our payment provider. If you chose to pay cash on arrival and no notarization took place, nothing is owed.

Late arrival

Appointments are held for ten minutes. If you arrive late, the notaries will always try their best to fit your appointment in around other appointments, however this may not always be possible.

If we cannot fit you in, we will offer you the next suitable slot. There is no late-arrival fee for office or Zoom appointments; if no notarization takes place, any notarial fee paid online is refunded in full.

No-shows

There is no no-show fee for office or Zoom appointments. If you paid online and do not attend, the notarial fee is refunded in full.

If you know you will not be able to attend, please contact us before your appointment time so we can release the slot or help you reschedule.

Mobile visits

Mobile visits are booked by phone. The travel fee is $30 for North Austin and $50 for the rest of Austin, and it is agreed when the visit is booked.

This is a non-notarial travel fee, itemized separately on your receipt. It is never added to the notarial fee.

Refusals by the notary

If a notary declines to carry out a notarization, there is no charge. Where you have already paid online, the full amount is refunded to the card used to pay.

A notary may decline for reasons that include identity or willingness to sign not being verifiable, the signer not being present, documents already being signed, or the request being unlawful. A refusal is never a judgement about you.
